More than likely your organization has already determined whether you’ll be running the SMARTfit app in Cloud Sign In or in Local Sign In.
Cloud Sign In (Recommended): If your device will be connected to the internet or a cellular network while operating the App, then use the Cloud sign in. This allows you to unlock the full functionality of the SMARTfit system.
Local Sign In (Not Common): If you are not able to connect to the internet, then use the local sign in. Clicking the red button on the bottom right of the Log In page gives you this popup “Switch to Local Only Sign In.” Select this option if you need to run the system locally.
- Accounts and data made in local sign in cannot be accessed on any other device
- This account is tied to the specific device it was created on
- If the app is deleted, all data is lost
At the end of the account creation process, you will see a message asking if you need to migrate data from SMARTfit 1.0 to SMARTfit 2.0. If you have local data on this device that you would like to sync with the cloud, select Yes. For most people, this answer is No.
